A Mustang since 2016, Barrett has been competing as a jumps and hurdles athlete for a number of years and is currently an athlete with the University of Alberta for the indoor season as well as with the club for the outdoor season. Barrett has spent a number of years coaching in the junior development program and has spent some time assisting with senior hurdles. She is a 2023 and 2024 Summer Student and has assisted with coaching the local junior and senior high schools, as well as helping to assist in running the St. Albert Challenge. She also built the foundations of a Homeschool Track and Field program, which she continues to coach. Barrett is a club coach trained jumps coach and sprints and hurdles coach.
